I Have Discipline in My Life
Hebrews 12:11 (NIV) reminds us, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
Proverbs 12:1 (NLT) speaks clearly: “To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.”
Discipline doesn’t feel good in the moment. It stretches us, corrects us, and often confronts the areas we’d rather leave untouched. But God's discipline is a gift—it’s His love shaping us into powerful, fruitful, and wise individuals. Discipline is the soil where destiny grows.
It shows up in small choices—choosing to pray when we feel tired, forgiving when it’s easier to stay angry, working diligently when no one is watching, managing our finances wisely, pressing through uncomfortable growth or resisting distractions that steal our purpose. The list goes on... Each decision to walk in discipline builds strength, character, and trust in God.
Today, I boldly declare: I have discipline in my life. I am not afraid of correction. I don’t run from it—I embrace it. Because I know that on the other side of discipline is breakthrough, peace, and a life that reflects God's glory.
I am learning. I am growing. I am becoming. My future is shaped by the discipline I walk in today, and I welcome the training because I trust the Trainer.
? Prayer: Lord, help me to see discipline as a blessing, not a burden. Give me the grace to follow Your direction even when it’s hard. Shape my heart to crave righteousness more than comfort. Thank You for loving me enough to correct me. Amen.
